Grinding Stone is a quest found in Dwarrows, which can be found in the Hillcrest Village area.
Quest Structure[]
- The quest begins when the player speaks to Miller Rynd, who is standing in front of a windmill on a hill in Hillcrest Village. The player is asked to help fix the windmill.
- The player must use the Gnome's Building Hammer to construct three sets of scaffolding up the windmill, which initially appear to be piles of rubble. Once complete, the Dwarf must climb up the scaffolding and attempt to clear the large rock lodged in the mill using his Pick Axe.
- The Pick Axe fails to clear the rock. When speaking to Rynd again, they suggest that the player should find some explosives, and that explosives might be available over at Breezy River Farm.
- In order to reach Breezy River, the Gnome must repair a bridge on the western river, southwest of Hillcrest Village.
- Once the player arrives in Breezy River Farm, they find a blue warehouse being watched over by another character, who quickly tells the player the warehouse is full of Kegnades, but refuses to give the player any to use. Instead, they tell the player that Vivace and Chip are in charge of the Kegnades, but that they are currently away on vacation.
- Vivace and Chip are not present at Breezy River Farm. The quest cannot be progress beyond this point until the player has completed the Trial in the Pines. The player must first complete that Trial, and then must complete the quest Between a Rock and Other Rocks, before continuing on this quest.
- Once the player has access to Kegnades, and has acquired some Black Powder, the Dwarf must place a Kegnade on the stone on top of the windmill. It will explode, and Rynd will call the player down for a reward.
